Frequently asked questions

What teams ask usbefore they start.

Getting started

  • About two months from the signed contract to the first sessions run in Hinfact. We configure the platform to match your workflows, move your existing syllabi and training records across, train your training managers, standardise your instructors, then go live.

    How we deploy

  • Training managers who build courses and sessions need two days to learn how to set up the rules to comply with (regulations, operations manual) and to build compliant courses.

Instructors need about three hours to run the app during simulator sessions, debrief with the data collected and complete the grading.

A one-day session on data analysis follows after two or three months of use, once there is enough data to steer the training.

  • Yes. Configuration is part of the deployment: we start from questionnaires and workshops with your teams, and the platform is delivered set up for your programmes and workflows. It keeps evolving with your needs after go-live.

  • Yes. Dedicated interfaces, using common standards, exchange data with the systems you already use: crew scheduling, document management, human resources and more.

  • The Hinfact team stays with you: support, product updates and new features as your programmes change. You talk to people who know aviation: pilots, engineers and human factors researchers.

Hinfact Training

  • Yes. Programmes are built on your competency framework, instructors grade against observable behaviours, and every result feeds the trainee’s competency profile. Hinfact Training supports EBT programmes in airlines as well as competency-based training in flight schools.

    CBTA & EBT

  • A compliance matrix checks your programme against the regulations and rules entered in the system. Once it is complete, the programme can be exported as a PDF for publication.

  • No. The rule engine lets you set up the rules a programme must follow, for example recurrent training over three years, but our team can load them for you.

  • Yes. Inter-rater consistency is tracked in the platform, in line with the authorities’ recommendations. Dashboards follow grading across the whole organisation, and a live view supports standardisation sessions.

  • Everything instructors record can be displayed the way you need. Build your own reports on the topics you follow: competencies that need attention across your crews, progress over time, and your own criteria.

  • After a few months of use and a few dozen completed sessions. At that point we run an advanced session with your team to explore the analysis features and adjust the interfaces if needed.

  • No. It takes administrative work off their hands, from building sessions to filling in records, so they spend more time on training. The instructor keeps the decision: our tools propose, show and explain, they never grade in the instructor’s place.

  • Yes. Hinfact Training runs on desktop, tablet and phone, with the same records on every screen. Instructors grade on a tablet in the simulator, and trainees follow their progress on their phone.

  • Yes. Training results and documents produced during sessions can be generated as PDF files and stored, and Hinfact Training can connect to your document management system.

Hinfact Safety & Ops

  • A safety management system for aviation. Report, analyse and prioritise risks in one place, with the human factors lens that explains the why behind every event. It is currently open in early access.

    Hinfact Safety & Ops

  • Its ten modules are organised by the four ICAO components of a safety management system: safety policy and objectives, safety risk management, safety assurance and safety promotion. They share one record of every event, every risk and every action.

  • A safety system only works if people trust it. Reporting takes a few taps for every role, each report gets an answer, and the principle is clear: report to understand, never to sanction.

Hinfact Sense

  • Gaze, voice and fatigue, in the simulator, synchronised with the simulator’s flight data. Infrared cameras built into the cockpit track where each pilot looks; there is nothing for the crew to wear, and the session runs as usual.

    Hinfact Sense

  • No. Sense measures what a crew does, never what they think or feel. It shows, suggests and flags facts for the debrief; the instructor keeps the decision and grades.

Data & security

  • Hinfact follows the current security standards for SaaS software. The platform runs on a major cloud provider’s infrastructure and its security systems, with a separate backup on top.

  • Yes. We collect what serves a purpose, not everything that is possible, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation.

  • You do. Each organisation owns its data and decides what it shares.

  • Individual data is there to help each person progress, not to rank them. Who sees individual results, and who only sees aggregated figures, is defined by role and set up with you.
