Why Hinfact · Science & research

From the labto the line.

Hinfact grew out of the neuroergonomics laboratory of ISAE-SUPAERO, where researchers have studied how pilots perceive, decide and act for more than 25 years.

Our roots

25+

Years of human factors research in aviation.

Before any software, there was a question: how do people perform when things get complex? Hinfact was built to take the answers out of the laboratory.

  1. 2003

    The laboratory

The neuroergonomics laboratory of ISAE-SUPAERO starts studying pilot behaviour and performance.

  2. 2017

    Hinfact

Three researchers and two ISAE-SUPAERO alumni found Hinfact to bring that science to training.

  3. Today

    In operations

The same rigour runs in training centres, airlines and simulators, on four continents.

What we study

How people performwhen it gets complex.

  1. 01

    Where pilots look

Eye movements and attention: how the instruments and the outside world are scanned.

  2. 02

    Workload and performance

How peaks of demand, a failure or a change of plan, shape what a crew can do.

  3. 03

    Deciding and switching tasks

How attention is shared between flying, navigating, communicating and managing systems.

  4. 04

    Training that changes behaviour

How targeted training moves competencies, measured before and after.
