Competency-Based Training and Assessment asks for clear objectives, observable behaviours and consistent evaluation, for every student, at every stage.

The context

A flight school is moving to CBTA while still running on outdated, time-consuming methods. Its programmes must keep up with regulatory change, and following each student’s progression, then proving it in front of the authority, takes days of manual work.

The challenges

  1. 01

Moving to competency-based training and assessment

  2. 02

Running CBTA programmes that keep up with continuous change

  3. 03

Digitising training and collecting reliable data for analysis

  4. 04

Getting instructors involved in the new way of assessing

What Hinfact provided

Hinfact Training was deployed in the cloud and configured to the organisation’s workflows. A dedicated product engineer worked alongside the training manager from the first day, including in discussions with the authority and during audits. Existing syllabi and training records were migrated, so nothing started from zero, and the Hinfact team trained every instructor and standardised their grading.

How it works day to day

  1. 01

    Build CBTA programmes

Competencies, objectives and observable behaviours structured in Training Design, ready to evolve with the regulation.

  2. 02

    Plan ahead

Sessions, instructors, aircraft and simulators planned in advance, with qualifications checked as the plan is built.

  3. 03

    Follow every student

Instructors grade in the app; each student’s record, qualifications and documents update straight away.

The outcome

Live in two months, with every user trained and programmes aligned with CBTA.

The school meets ICAO and IATA requirements and is aligned with the EBT standards its students will meet at the airlines. Training paths now target each student’s weak points, grading is standardised, and the school handles its administration on its own, saving time and cost in course design and delivery.

How the project runs

From the first call to the first session.

Every deployment follows the same path: understand, configure, train, then improve. The Hinfact team stays with you at each step.

Framing

Before the contract
  1. 01

    Understand your needs

Your programmes, your regulation, your goal: a move to EBT or CBTA, for example.

  2. 02

    Demo in a real environment

The product shown where training happens, in the simulator.

  3. 03

    Scope the project

Implementation strategy and the integrations it needs.

  4. 04

    Tailored offer

A proposal and a contract built around that scope.

Delivery

Two months
  1. 05

    Configure

The platform set up to match your workflows.

  2. 06

    Migrate

Existing syllabi and training records moved across.

  3. 07

    Onboard managers

Training managers trained on their own space.

  4. 08

    Standardise instructors

Instructors trained, and their grading aligned with EBT practice.

  5. 09

    Go live

Every user trained, the first sessions run in Hinfact.

After go-live

Over time
  1. 10

    Advanced analytics

Activated after one year, once enough training data has built up.

  2. 11

    Ongoing support

Product evolution, support and new features as your programmes change.
