Moving to mixed Evidence-Based Training means changing how competencies are defined, observed, analysed and developed, not just changing the assessment form.

The context

An airline has to move its recurrent pilot training to mixed EBT while staying aligned with EASA requirements, under the oversight of its national authority. It also wants to digitise a training department that still relies on separate tools and paper.

The challenges

  1. 01

Bridging the gap between EASA’s standards and the day-to-day reality of pilots and instructors

  2. 02

Building mixed EBT programmes that keep adapting as the operation changes

  3. 03

Digitising training and collecting accurate, secure data

  4. 04

Getting instructors on board with a new way of assessing

What Hinfact provided

Hinfact Training was deployed in the cloud and configured to the organisation’s workflows. A dedicated product engineer worked alongside the training manager from the first day, including in discussions with the authority and during audits. Existing syllabi and training records were migrated, so nothing started from zero, and the Hinfact team trained every instructor and standardised their grading.

How it works day to day

  1. 01

    Structure the programmes

Courses and sessions built in Training Design, aligned with the competency framework and the authority’s requirements.

  2. 02

    Grade where it happens

Instructors assess on a tablet during the session, competency by competency. The Hinfact team trained them and standardised their grading to EBT practice.

  3. 03

    Read it at fleet level

Analytics and qualification tracking turn individual sessions into trends, and expiry dates into alerts.

The outcome

Live in two months, with every user trained and the authority on board.

Involving the authority early settled its questions quickly. Debriefs have moved towards facilitation, and new safety indicators now feed the safety risk analysis. Grading is standardised across instructors, and the airline runs its training space on its own, with far less administrative work and real time and cost savings in course design and delivery.

Modules used

Training Design
Build courses and assemble sessions, aligned with your competency framework.
Instructor App
Grade during the session and spend less time on the debrief paperwork.
Records Keeping
Track every session, resource and record, with a full audit trail.
Qualifications
See each trainee’s qualifications and expiry dates at a glance.
Analytics
Collect, export and analyse training data, from the session to the fleet.

How the project runs

From the first call to the first session.

Every deployment follows the same path: understand, configure, train, then improve. The Hinfact team stays with you at each step.

Framing

Before the contract
  1. 01

    Understand your needs

Your programmes, your regulation, your goal: a move to EBT or CBTA, for example.

  2. 02

    Demo in a real environment

The product shown where training happens, in the simulator.

  3. 03

    Scope the project

Implementation strategy and the integrations it needs.

  4. 04

    Tailored offer

A proposal and a contract built around that scope.

Delivery

Two months
  1. 05

    Configure

The platform set up to match your workflows.

  2. 06

    Migrate

Existing syllabi and training records moved across.

  3. 07

    Onboard managers

Training managers trained on their own space.

  4. 08

    Standardise instructors

Instructors trained, and their grading aligned with EBT practice.

  5. 09

    Go live

Every user trained, the first sessions run in Hinfact.

After go-live
